The band Payday is the finishing line in John Miami’s long lasting quest to refine his musical influences and define his own solid Hard Rock taste.
While living in Berlin, he decided to form one band that will play music coming straight from the heart, aiming to share his rock n roll vision with fellow rockers around the Globe.
Payday as a name is the awaiting for the day that all the effort of all the years struggling in music business, life, etc. is to be rewarded.

2008

John Miami started looking for members able to fit in the band and complete the sound needed for a full length album he already composed. Bass player of Kingdom Come, Frank Binke, was the first to join the ranks of Payday. John and Frank met during Dokken & Kingdom Come “Defenders of Rock 2007” joint European tour and became friends ever since. Frank contacted his fellow musician Nader Rahy, who was playing at the time with Nena band (now with Kingdom Come), and he agreed to help in recording the album as well as playing the drums. Dean Mess, the singer of the band John Miami was playing with in Thessaloniki, was called to fly to Berlin and record the vocals. The band’s debut album was recorded in Berlin between October and November of 2008. Since the music was recorded live, the philosophy of the sound was to capture the warmth of a band's live feeling. Hot guitars, Pumping Bass, Groovy drums and ''in your face '' bluesy vocals are the main characteristics of how Payday rocks.

2009-Present

John Miami and Dean Mess moved in the city of Thessaloniki located in Northern Greece to continue Payday. Therefore they had to search for a new drummer and a bass player. Bass player Alex Kidd was part of various local bands and had a lot of stage and recording experience . Drummer Jesus crucified his carrier as an athlete and joined later on to complete the backbone of Payday. With new members on board it was of critical importance for the band to establish a tight, groovy and professional stage appearance. Renting a private studio and having the freedom to practice as many hours daily as required for almost a year, made that possible. From October 2009 the band started playing various gigs getting great feedback from fans. The target of the band is to drop more jaws in every concert showing instrument and stage skills and of course send pure rock vibes.
On March 15th 2010 the first self titled album of PAYDAY was released supported with a release live concert. By the coming of spring Dean Mess and John Miami relocated in an isolated place by the sea to compose the new material for the band. On April 2010 the band recorded the song “JET SET” which was at once acclaimed as a masterpiece by the fans. The new material is a time bomb ready to explode. Songs which are more furious and spicier. Concert promoters and radio stations approached the band to work with them, Payday got through many auditions. Summer 2010 is the time where all the new songs are recorded in demo versions. The band is looking forward to make the new studio album. Songs from the new album can be heard only in concerts for the moment.
